Betty J. Maynor, 76, of Old Fort, passed away peacefully and surrounded by her loving family at her home on Monday, January 1, 2018.
Mrs. Maynor was born on September 30, 1941, Marion, to the late Bud Noblitt and Ethel Whitesides Noblitt.
She was a Christian lady of the Baptist faith who was a loving wife and mother. She was a member of the Davistown community and raised her children there. Mrs. Maynor loved to grow a garden full of vegetables and flowers, and she was very crafty too. She enjoyed sewing and making jewelry. Most of all, she loved her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her nephew, Paul D. Noblitt.
Surviving Mrs. Maynor are her husband of 45 years, Edwin C. Maynor, of the home; three daughters, Debbie (Josh) Roland, of Marion, Lisa (Steve) Maynor-Harting of Nebo, Tracy( T J) Payne of Morganton; one son, Darrin Maynor of Old Fort; two brothers, Randy Noblitt of Old Fort and Paul (Judy) Noblitt of Blairsville, GA; twelve grandchildren, Crystal (Chris), Amanda (Clay), Anthony, Faith, Brenton, Adam, Devon, Riley, Cecily, Caden, Cavot and Cobren; six great-grandchildren, Shane, Avery, Skyler, Etta, Peyton, and Mason; a nephew, Jessen (Morgan) Noblitt; and a niece, Kasey Noblitt.
The family will receive friends from 2-3 PM on Saturday, January 6, 2018, at Kirksey Funeral Chapel in Old Fort. A Memorial Service to celebrate the life of Betty Maynor will begin at 3:00 PM following the visitation with Brother Mack Davis officiating.
