

Eula Anthony Brooks, age 95, of Marion, NC went to be with the Lord Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at Mountain Ridge Wellness Center in Black Mountain, NC surrounded by her family. Mrs. Brooks loved her family very much including her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was born March 2, 1916 in Swain County, NC to the late Henry B. Anthony and Martha Ammons Anthony. Mrs. Brooks retired from IAC in Old Fort, NC after 15+ years of service. She was a member of Greenlee Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday School Teacher for many years. She loved her church and was a devote Christian. She also enjoyed her flowers and gardening.
In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Roy Brooks and one son, Charles Brooks.
Surviving are four sons, Paul A. Brooks and wife, Linda of Old Fort, NC, Wayne L. Brooks of Marion, NC, James R. Brooks of Old Fort, NC and Don O. Brooks and wife, Sandra of Marion, NC; three daughters, Kay B. Revis and husband, James of Nebo, NC, Nina B. Goforth and husband, Leonard of Ellenboro, NC and Debra B. Davis and husband, Ronald of Thomasville, NC; special neighbors, Kenny and Lois Greenlee; nineteen grandchildren; thirty-one great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren (with two more on the way); numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Brooks also loved everyone in the Greenlee Community.
The family will receive friends from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Friday, September 9, 2011 at Greenlee Baptist Church. Funeral Services will follow at 11:00 AM at the church with Rev. Jack Sammons officiating. A graveside service will be held at 4:00 PM on Friday following the funeral service at Luada Cemetery in Bryson City, NC.
