Fred Laws

He was born February 5, 1925 in Swain County, NC to the late James W. Laws and Martha Hughes Laws. Mr. Laws was a member of Parker’s Chapel Baptist Church. He was known as a good Christian man who loved the Lord! Mr. Laws worked for Ethan Allen for many years until his retirement.

In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by one son, Roger Dean Laws; one daughter, Patricia Faye Yelton; and a great-grandson, Christian Alexander Cable.

Surviving Mr. Laws are his wife of 67 years, Priscilla Stevens Laws of the home; three sons, Everette Lee Laws of Marion, NC, Donald E. Laws of Black Mountain, NC and Dennis Laws and wife, Loresa Byrd Laws of Marion, NC; three daughters, Brenda L. Laws and husband, James of Marion, NC, Priscilla Ann Cable of Marion, NC and Carolyn Loftis of Marion, NC; one sister, Elsie Thomas of Yancey County, NC; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

A Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 PM on Thursday, December 12, 2013 in McCall Memorial Chapel at Kirksey Funeral Home in Marion with Rev. Brian Gentry officiating. Burial will follow at Glenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
