Jack Birdette Wilson

Jack Birdette Wilson, 81, of Swannanoa, NC, passed away on Friday June 15th, at Rainey Hospice House in Anderson, SC, surrounded by his loving family.

Mr. Wilson was born in Yancey County, to the late Avery Arthur Wilson and Mattie Susan Silvers.

Jack was a loving, caring and dedicated husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and pet parent to Cody the Beagle.

In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by 2 brothers and 4 sisters.

Mr. Wilson is survived by his wife of 60 years Shirley Tipton Wilson. In addition to his wife he is survived by one son, Kenneth and wife Pam of Asheville; one daughter Melinda Lee Dedrick and husband Dan of Elgen, SC; two brothers, Curtis Marvin Wilson of South Carolina, Claude Wilson of Alabama; four grandchildren, Shay Wright of Asheville, Kelly Coin of Mills River, Daniel Dedrick of California, Hannah Dedrick of Elgen, SC; and one great granddaughter Riley Coin of Mills River.

Memorial Services will be held at Kirksey Funeral Home Chapel, Wednesday June 20, 2018 at 6:00 pm with the Reverend Pat Looper officiating. Burial will follow at a later date in the Robinson Family cemetery.

The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to services.
