Julia King English Spicer

She was born on February 23, 1927 to the late Mr. William Garvel English and Mrs. Mattie Sinclair English. Mrs. Spicer worked for the Palm Beach County Schools of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida serving as their Dean of Students. She was a member of Concord United Methodist Church of North Cove.

She was preceded in death by her parents, by her husband Mr. Francis B. Spicer, and two brothers; Mr. Walter Sinclair English and Mr. William Garvel English, Jr. She is survived by her brother, Mr. Romulas English and wife Bobby of Marion, and niece’s Mrs. Jean Taylor and husband Paul also of Marion; Betsy M. English, M.D. and husband Mark Stanek of Winston-Salem; Ellen Mace and husband Harold of Marion; and Terry Phillips and husband Charles of Charlotte, NC. Four nephews also survive; Tim English and wife Emmy of San Diego, Ca.; Mike English and wife Darlene of Manassas, Va.; Gary English of Charlotte, NC; and Chris Sherrill and wife Angie of Hickory, NC.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Saturday September 28, 2013 at Concord United Methodist Church of North Cove. Services will follow at 2:00 PM at the church with Rev Carroll Miller officiating. Burial will follow the services at The English Family Cemetery.

Flowers are welcomed and appreciated by the family. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
