Karen Lee Willis

Karen Lee Willis, 71, of Marion, NC, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 15, 2017, at Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC.

Mrs. Willis was born on July 10, 1946, in Mt. Clemens, Michigan, to the late Erving A. “Slim” Jones and Emily Thomas Jones.

She was a member of North Cove Church of God. She served as secretary for many years at the church and was also a member of the choir.

Mrs. Willis worked at Baxter Healthcare and was retired. She was a good hearted person with a good sense of humor. She enjoyed crocheting and loved her family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Louie Willis; a brother, John Thomas Jones; and a sister, Jean Claeys.

Surviving Ms. Willis are her brother, Richard (Tillie) Jones, of St. Clair Shores, MI and dear friends, Martha and Kevin Knowlton, of Marion, NC.

A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, November 21, 2017, at 2:00 PM, at North Cove Church of God, with Pastor Jim Kilpatrick and Pastor Travis Cooke officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow the service at McDowell Memorial Park.
