Nettie Lovel Rhom

Mrs. Nettie Lovel Rhom, 83, of Nebo, passed away peacefully into the arms of her Heavenly Father surrounded by her family on Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at her residence. Born on April 13, 1928 in McDowell County, she was the daughter of the late John Davis and Bertha McKinney Davis. Mrs. Rhom was a loving and family oriented individual. She loved and cherished her family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Howard Rhom; brothers, Fred, Wylie and Ronnie Wayne.

She is survived by her children, Wayne E. Rhom and his wife, Doris of Nebo, Glenda L. Johnson of Nebo, Alvin Rhom of Nebo, Jennie M. Williams and her husband, Harley of Nebo, and Shirley A. Hensley and her husband, Buddy of Nebo; 15 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; three brothers, Ed and his wife, Margie, Frank and his wife, Mae and Willie and his wife, Carrie; and two sisters, Ruby and her husband, Otis and Lissie and her husband, Jack.

A Service of Remembrance will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, August 12, 2011 at Bethel

Free Will Baptist Church with the Reverend Ray Stockton officiating. Burial will follow at Murphy’s Chapel Cemetery.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at the church.
