Dad,you have been gone a year today. I miss our phone calls! "Hi sweetheart", even though I'm sad your not here, when I think of things you & I have done & talked about it makes me smile, even laugh sometimes! You sure were a one of a kind dad! Mr. Hensley, you will always be Mr. Hensley  to me.  Though age allows for first names, respect requires a certain level of address.  You were an absolute joy to experience from a student's perspective.  I learned a lot from you and through you.  May your travels be joyous and your lessons be remembered. Mr. Hensley was a mentor, and good friend to my late brother, Fred (Fritz) Berecky. I remember Bob and Fred on our front porch, talking for hours into the night. I lost Fred so long ago, but my childhood memories of his Theater friends, and the plays he worked on, never diminish. God Bless, and Sympathies to the Hensely Family, friends, and NEPA theater.

Mr. Hensley was an outstanding teacher who made learning the sciences a blast!  He taught many of my older siblings and his passing brings great sadness to me and my family.

Very sad to see of his passing was a wonderful actor saw him in many plays at the Music box  in Swoyerville, especially loved him in (VIDDLER ON THE ROOF.....

Students, actors, and friends all learned so much from this special man.  A gentle giant, he could say more with his wry smile or his ever-playful eyes than most of us do with words.  Yet quotes keep coming back to me, like "when they notice the scenery, you KNOW you're in trouble."  How he discovered that, I don't know, since whenever you were with him, NO one could ever notice the scenery!  Thanks for your guidance and all the precious memories.  Meyers '77.

While Mr. Hensley is certainly beyond pain and suffering, I'm sad that one FANTASTIC teacher is gone.

Mr. Hensley was my 8th grade science teacher at Coughlin High School in the mid 1960s. When I think of teachers there, he always comes to mind first! He really motivated me to do well. Thank you, Mr. Hensley, now rest in peace, you made a difference!

I arrived for the first day of chemistry class in my sophomore year with a large plaster cast on my arm.  I explained to Mr. Hensley that I'd be in the cast for six weeks or so and, as I'd broken my left arm and was left-handed, might have some "legibility" issues writing my test answers.  He looked at me with a devilish grin and said "oh dear -- flunky flunky!".  That was my first experience with the teacher from whom I learned so much more than just what was in the textbook.  Farewell Mr. Hensley and thank you - I know there is a packed house and a standing ovation waiting for you in heaven.

This saddens me deeply. He was such a joy to be around. Very talented too. A true asset to the community and wonderful friend to me and those who knew him.

Sincere condolences to Mr. Hensley's Family.  He was a great teacher and very tolerant individual.

Mr. Hensley was a true gentleman, a great teacher with a zest for life in his classroom and the patience of Job dealing with us knuckleheads in his '72 Meyers CP chemistry classes.  Our lives are better for having known him, but we didn't know it back then.  Thanks Mr. Hensley, Rest in Peace.

In our lifetime, a few people come along and influence who you are and what you will become.  Mr. Hensley was that man for me.  He was my drama coach at Coughlin High School and also assisted me in King's College Plays.  One evening I had to sew a costume for "A Midsummer's Night Dream" and didn't know what to do.  I called him and came came to the college and helped me out.  I'll never forget how kind he was.  I will always remember and love him.

Bob played many roles in his lifetime, but the greatest was his own life of which he shared with us. His performances will be shared in a heavenly theater.

RIP, a wonderful man who I did not know personally, but always admired all that you contributed to this area a man full of courage and life!

Every community generally has a few extraordinary citizens and Bob Hensley was one of those. His love of teaching was matched by his love for the theater. Inspiring in the classroom, an actor of depth on stage, and a skilled director, Bob Hensley was warm, witty and always genuine. A rare individual who will be greatly missed.

Mr. Hensley- you were an awesome person and one of the few teachers who actually inspired me.  You will be missed!
