Sandra Kay Ellis

Sandra Kay Ellis, 59, of Old Fort, died Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at Mountain Ridge Wellness Center in Black Mountain. Born on July 5, 1952 in McDowell County, she was the daughter of the late David Hensley and Mildred Waldrop Hensley.

She is survived by her son, David Jamie Effler of Marion; sisters, Shelby Tipton of Burnsville, NC, Barbara Walker and her husband, Leonard of Old Fort, Dina Brown of Marion and Jeanette Kirby of Old Fort; brothers, David Hensley and his wife, Millie of Black Mountain and Larry Hensley of Old Fort; and grandchild, William Reed Henson of Morganton.

A memorial service will be held 12:00 p.m., Saturday, December 31, 2011 at Old Fort Church of God. The family will receive 30 minutes prior to the service from 11:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions may be made to Mountain Ridge Wellness Center, 611 Old US 70E, Black Mountain, NC 28711.
