Shirley Schronce Lytle, 68, of Old Fort, NC, passed away on Saturday, December 16, 2017, at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center in Asheville.
Mrs. Lytle was born on October 1, 1949, in Gaston Co., NC to the late Jack Schronce and Marie Caldwell Schronce. She was a Christian lady and of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Lytle worked as an x-ray technician for Blue Ridge Bone and Joint.
She was a selfless, sweet, caring, and strong woman who had a heart of gold. She loved helping people, loved animals, especially birds and dogs. Mrs. Lytle also loved to cook and her all time favorite meal was chicken and dumplings. She was a great role model and in spite of her many health issues, she persevered and remained optimistic.
Mrs. Lytle was preceded in death by her husband, William “Billy” Lytle, Sr., and a son, William “Bill” Lytle, Jr.; and her beloved dog, Ginger.
Left behind to cherish her memory are her, daughter, Kristi “Renae” Lytle and her husband, Isaac Nanney, of Old Fort; a brother, Dean (Kathy) Schronce of Gaston Co., NC; sisters, Barbara (Johnny) Duckworth, Tammy (T.R.) Welch, both of Gaston Co., NC, and Linda (Donnie) Medlin of Moore, Co., NC; a grandson, William Kyle Lytle, III of McDowell Co., NC; a host of nieces and nephews and her precious dog, Romeo.
A Memorial Service celebrating the life of Shirley Lytle will be held on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at 2:00 pm, at Kirksey Funeral Home in Marion, with Pastor Keith Jamison officiating.
