Janice A. Spahr, 93 of Markle passed away on Sunday, May 17, 2020 at Markle Health and Rehabilitation Center. Janice was a 1944 graduate of Markle High School. She received an Associate’s degree in business from International Business College. Janice had worked at Locke Steel in Huntington. She was an executive assistant at Burkhart Advertising in Fort Wayne and most recently as a receptionist at Markle Medical Center, retiring in the 1990’s. She was a life time member of Markle United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Methodist Church Women’s Circle. She was a member of Eastern Star and PSI IOTA Xi sorority. Janice enjoyed spending time at Lake Webster, crocheting, cross stitch, reading and spending time with her family.
She was born on August 8, 1926 in Markle, the daughter of Irvin Isaac and Roxie Belle (Randol) Wolfcale.
She was united in marriage to Perl E. Spahr on February 22, 1947 in Markle. Perl preceded her in death on February 6, 1996.
Survivors include: two daughters: Gale (Don) Heller of Markle; Lynn (Gary) Steele of Georgetown, KY; seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a son: Hal Spahr in 2004.
There will be a public memorial service at a later date at the Myers Funeral Home Markle Chapel.
Interment will take place at the Markle Cemetery.
