Laci ”Jay” (Gillespie) Hammons, 34, of Zanesville passed away on Tuesday morning, February 13, 2024 at her home. Laci was a 2008 graduate of Huntington North High School. She was a homemaker and loved her animals, especially her two puppies and three ferrets. She loved music and Disney Cartoons. She also loved spending time with her nephews and step kids. Laci was known for her outgoing personality, her wit and fun sense of humor. She was loved by everyone who knew her.
Laci was born July 11, 1989 in Columbia City, a daughter of Melvin M. and Deborah G. (Zuber) Gillespie.
She was united in marriage to Lisa D. Hammons on June 1, 2016 in Honolulu, Hawaii. Lisa survives.
Additional survivors include her parents: Mel and Deb Gillespie of Huntington; a sister: Laura Sharp of North Carolina; a brother: Clifford Hawkins of Larwill; a step-daughter: Calli Wallace of Muncie; a step-son: Seth Wallace of Fort Wayne; and three nephews: Andrew Gillespie, Derek Gillespie and Levi Williams.
A Gathering of Family & Friends will be held on Friday, February 23, 2024 from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the Myers Funeral Home, Huntington Chapel 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington IN 46750.
Memorial donations can be made out to Diversified Club at Huntington North High school or Donor’s Choice sent in care of Myers Funeral Home, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington IN 46750
