Mary Cook

Mary L. Cook, 91, formerly of Uniondale passed away at 8:22 pm on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at Markle Health Care and Rehab. Mary was a homemaker. She was a member of Uniondale United Methodist Church and was very active. She loved to bake and knit, and enjoyed gardening. She also enjoyed doing arts and crafts and ceramics. Mary was born on September 16, 1927 in Fort Wayne, the daughter of Charles and Pearl (McLaughlin) Niedermeyer. She was united in marriage to Durwood “Wayne” Cook in September of 1953. He preceded her in death in 1995. Survivors include two sons: Gary Cook of Markle and Larry G.(Tammy Melching) Cook of Bluffton; four sisters: Joyce Pease of Rome City, Norma Niedermeyer of Ft Wayne, Linda (Tom) Cochran of Ft Wayne, and Bonnie Royal of Churubusco. A brother: Charles (Pat) Niedermeyer of Ft Wayne. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Ronnie Cook. Two sisters, Betty Niedermeyer, and Dorothy Monnier. A brother, Richard Niedermeyer. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 2, 2018 from 3:00 pm – 7:00 pm at the Myers Funeral Home Markle Chapel, 415 N. Lee Street, Markle, Indiana. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 3, 2018, at 10:00 am at the Myers Funeral Home Markle Chapel, 415 N. Lee Street, Markle, Indiana. Interment will be at the Oaklawn Cemetery in Ossian. Memorial donations can be made out to Great Lakes Caring Hospice, or Uniondale United Methodist Church, in care of Myers Funeral Home, P.O.
