Nick L Chaney, 71 of Markle passed away at 10:45 pm on Friday, May 11, 2018 at Markle Health and Rehab. Nick was a 1965 Graduate of Lancaster High School. After graduating Nick served his country in the United States Marines. He spent most of his life working for his family business Chaney Excavating. Nick was a lifetime member of the Roanoke American Legion Post 160. He loved riding motorcycles and taking care of his horse.
Nick was born on December 21 1946 in Huntington, the son of James O. and Gladys Louise (Williams) Chaney.
Survivors include two sons: Shawn Chaney of Bluffton, and Anthony “Tony “(Angie) Chaney of Bluffton; a step daughter: Kelli (Bill) Luallen of Greenwood IN; a step son: Mark Netherland of Seattle WS; two brothers: Kendrick (Diann) Chaney and Ron (Julie) Chaney; a sister Susie (Ed) Decker: Six grandchildren and three great grandchildren
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister Sharleen Carnes
Visitation will be held on Tuesday May 15, 2018 from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm at the Myers Funeral Home Markle Chapel, 415 N. Lee Street, Markle, Indiana.
Funeral service will be held on Tuesday May 15, 2018 at 1:00 pm at the Myers Funeral Home Markle Chapel, 415 N. Lee Street, Markle, Indiana with Pastor Gerald Moreland Officiating.
Interment will be at the Hoverstock Cemetery Zanesville.
Memorial donations can be made out to Youth For Christ in care of Myers Funeral Home, P.O. Box 403, Markle, IN 46770.
