Ruby F. Holderread, 61 of Cleveland, Ohio and formerly of Markle, passed away at The Laurels in Defiance on January 17, 2022. Ruby was a graduate of Northrop High School and Ravenscroft Beauty College both in Fort Wayne. Ruby worked as a beautician for 42 years, retiring in 2021. She was an avid crafter and practical joker. Ruby loved spur of the moment adventures. She was an active member of the deaf community.
Ruby was born on May 2, 1960 in Huntington, the daughter of the late Maurice W. and Clois M. (Killian) Dill.
She was united in marriage to David L. Holderread on December 21, 1985. David preceded her in death on December 21, 2015.
Survivors include a sister: Gladys M. Dill Carter of Huntington; three brothers: Wilbur L. Dill of Huntington, Joe M. Dill of Huntington and Mark A. Dill of Shipshewana; a brother-in-law: Tom Holderread and several nieces and nephews.
A gathering of family and friends with a celebration of life will be held on Friday, January 21, 2022 from 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm at the Myers Funeral Home Markle Chapel, 415 N. Lee Street, Markle, Indiana. We will be following the CDC’s and Indiana’s Health guidelines.
Interment will take place at a later date at Whitehaven Cemetery in Mayfield Heights, Ohio. Additional services will also take place at a later date in Cleveland, Ohio.
