Trish and I had a great talk about you a few months back, I promised her I would get by to see her when I came back down to Waco.  You stay in my thoughts Skinner and it's always with a "what if" I miss you.  Your a good man.  With all my love,  Tude.

Today sucked, just as it has the past couple years but I keep thuggin it out. Still can't listen to "Nutshell" by Alice in Chains without crying. 

So much has happened this yesr. I've moved into my very own place, for the first time ever in my life.  3 bedroom 2 bath. Just me and the boys, literally so much space for activities. I've secured a fantastic career without the help of a formal education 👏🏻 and I'm finally healing from my not so great childhood. Everyday I strive to be the best woman and mother I possibly can be despite my terrible roll model I was given. Still don't blame you but the question lingers - how could you not fight her for me?

I always thought I would see you again.  I got the news yesterday. You have been gone five months and I never knew.  I loved you, but more importantly, I liked you. You were my friend. You were always there if I needed you, always.  To Rosemary, my heart breaks for you.  I know how much you loved your son and he knew it too.  He loved you just as much.  So many years have past since my time spent with David but I will never forget them.  I hope God had a big white Pete with wings for you to drive when you got there. Last time I saw David I was under the big tree writing this down after recording it.  He comes barreling down the road, slammed on his brakes and hollers "Where's Minnie Pearl? He ain't made it yet?"  "Nope! I hear him tho!" "WHATCHA WRITIN'? LET ME HEAR IT!" AFTER LISTENING, HE ASKED ME TO MAKE HIM A COPY, HE'D PICK UP LATER. WANTED TO GIVE TO YOU. SAID IT DESCRIBED YA'LL SO HERE IT IS..

What a great Bud Light/Bbq send off party that was given in your honor today! Danielle did a wonderful job planning the service and send off today.  Maybe you could send her a sign that you were happy with everything.  Just a small sign that she will know only came from you! Ok?  Thanks! Alan and I will miss the visits, the stories, orange peels and Bud Light cans in the driveway letting us know you had come by, the big bonfires (my pecan tree is still trying to recuperate from all that heat), but most of all, you and Alan making me laugh with your antics! For the rest of my life, everytime I see/ plant "purty petunias", I'll think about you and smile. We love you. We miss you. We'll never, ever forget you!!! Donna and Alan Stone

I have so many memories of a lifetime with David, he had a heart of gold and would do anything for you.  Always dressed to the nines, starched jeans, starched button down & that black felt hat cocked to the side.  I love you David and thank you for always loving me.  To Rosemary, Sandra, Trish & Sheri, I'm so sorry for your loss.   Never in a million years did I think this day would come we had to say goodbye.  I love you Skinner forever & always.

To David’s family, My thoughts and prayers are with you all in your time of sorrow. I spent a lot of time with David when he was young and he was always around the snakehandlers at Butch’s house.

You will be missed our dear friend. Will see you again--another day !!! Fly high my friend.

A good man has left my "circle of trust" and even though we have only known each other for a short period of time (12yrs) I always liked being around him and felt he was part of the Byers family. He is a brother! I will miss you and hope our paths cross in the Kingdom of God so we can fly them kites we had so much fun with in Matagorda. Thanks for letting me be part of your life. I'm honored. Rest in peace and we will never forget you.  

Grateful to have known David. Anytime I saw him he always greeted me with a smile. Anytime he saw my husband he always made sure to tell him to tell me he hoped I was doing well. David was such a caring human being. Rest easy, David. We will miss you. 

I haven't seen David for many years, but I always thought very highly of him.  He was "half-pint" to me.  Prayers for the family.
