Mack was born October 24, 1951 in Waco, to parents, Travis and Gladys (Moody) Homeyer. He grew up with eight brothers and sisters, one sister passing away before he was born but whom picked his name.
He grew up in Gause, Davilla, and Buckholts. Graduating from Buckholts High School, Mack worked for Santa Fe Railroad as a dozer operator out of the Temple District, and a dozer operator for Thigpen Cattle Company of Chilton.
Mack was known for always having a story, lie, or joke to tell. He carried a liar’s license for years until it was lost, but the loss of the license did not deter him.
Mack was preceded in death by his parents, Travis, and Gladys, brothers, Edward, Ernest, and Albert, sisters, Gertrude, and Bernice Alford.
He is survived by a son, Russell Wayne Homeyer of Waco, brothers, Donald of Teague, Doug and wife Nora of Robinson, Ray and wife Kim of Abilene, Billy Jack of Calvert, and a sister Brenda Dollery of Calvert, brother in- law, Thomas Alford of Livingston, many nieces, and nephews, and great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Mack and his stories, and jokes will be missed by all of his family and friends.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be 1:00 PM Saturday, July 22, 2023 at the Lott Fire Department.
