Donald Ray “Duck” Thomas, of Groesbeck, formerly of Marlin, passed away Sunday, December 26, 2021. Graveside services were held in Old Union Cemetery on December 29, 2021 with Pastor Louis Neyland officiating.
Mr. Thomas was born on May 12, 1942 in Oletha, Texas to Emmett and Gladys (Evans) Thomas. Donald was a rancher most of his life. He also worked in the auction barns in Hubbard, Groesbeck and Marlin for many years. Donald enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife; Josie Thomas of 37 years and a sister; Joyce Kestler.
Survivors include his son; Michael Yates, daughter; Jennifer, granddaughter; Amy Yates, step children; Frank, Michael, Jeanette Wojchowski, Glenda Hoes and her husband, Ernest and Pat Tobias and her husband, Perry, nieces; Hope Thornbrough, Janett Gallegoes, Neicy Duke, Debbie Lenox and Dawn Favors and nephews; Rick Kestler and Dickey Kestler.
