Elida was born in Rosebud, TX on August 27, 1965 she was raised by her mother Mary Tijerina Vasquez. Elida enjoyed the times she had shared with her older brother Blas Jr. She attended her grade school education in Rosebud, TX as well. Throughout high school she attended the band squad and the Couget drill team, up until graduation.
Her senior year was the year she met the love of her life Camillo Tovar, Jr. They conceived their first child Camillo Domingo Tovar III born on December 12, 1983, the happiest day and biggest achievement they had yet to experience. Two years prior, their second child was born, Francisco Emilio Tovar. Their family had grown and so was their love for each other. The last child that was conceived was Joseph Tovar, Born on September 9, 1987, named after his father’s brother in memory that the name would never die. Elida, Mrs. Tovar worked for Marlin ISD for 19 years and Wal-Mart for 17 years to make a living to support her family and anyone in need of what she could offer. As many felt her as a second mother, as she presented a motherly figure and love to others. She also would advise to anyone that would give her the time of day or in need of care. Her heart and soul was big enough to share with the world.
Her battle with cancer began May of 2012, anyone and everything that could support her and help lift her and give her the power to grow her wings was there. She loved her two grandchildren Jovani Tovar and Juliani Tovar, she watched them grow till God called for our Queen; God’s angel welcomed her to his kingdom to spend eternity in paradise. She loved Yesinia Romero as the daughter she never got the chance to experience, their bond was very special as she would share and take with her an added piece of her soul. She had so many close friend’s that never gave up on her and showed the up most support that she had shared with them, to the end she would she would listen and say, “I’m doing fine.”
Her heart never quit, but her wings were complete with her soul to take flight. Never did she have a bad day; never did she question or lose faith. She is amongst us and her work here on earth is done as a human, for the angel she had proven to be; her work in heaven has only begun. Now the work she proved to the Lord has paid off. Her legacy here with us is now complete…. It’s Elida’s, Mrs. Tovar’s, our mothers, mom, and my mama’s day to spread her glorious wings and take flight. I love you Mama, we all love you. We are all happy for you and will miss you.
