

Jack Jay Norlie, 82, of Marlin, entered into rest Friday, November 3, 2011. A memorial service will be 11:00 am Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at Adams Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jeff Stull officiating. Visitation will be before and after the service.
Jack was born March 31, 1929, in Chicago, IL, to Wesley Emmett and Fern Brown Norlie. Jack married Juanita Mitchell in 1954. Mr. Norlie was a 1957 graduate of the University of Texas and was a proud Longhorn fan. He retired after 25 years of service with State Farm Insurance serving as the local agent in Marlin. He was a past member of the Palace Theater Association, a member of the Karem Shrine and was present secretary of the Marlin Shrine Club. He served as Chief Aide to the Potentate "Salty" Brown in 2003. Jack was past president of the Oriental Band, the Motor Patrol and the Dinner Club. He was a veteran of the Korean conflict having served in the U.S. Navy. The joys of his life were the Shriners, Golf, Dancing, Travel and his family.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Juanita; and son, Michael.
Survivors include sons, Christoper J. Norlie of Marlin; and William M. Norlie and wife, Beth, of Waco; daughter-in-law, Sally Norlie of Waco; brother Wesley Orville Norlie and wife, Carolyn, of Hideaway Lake; and grandson Jack Andrew Norlie of Waco.
The family would like to offer a very special thanks to Carla Hunter for her loving and devoted care during Jack's last months of life. She was a God send to the family. Also, a special thanks to the caregivers of Bluebonnet Hospice of Waco. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to the Shriners Children's Hospital.
