

Mary Hunnicutt Price, 88, of Marlin, passed away Friday, May 5, 2017. Funeral service will be held Saturday, May 13, at 10 a.m. at St. John Episcopal Church with Rev. Judy Filer officiating. Interment to follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Marlin. Family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday, May 12, at the funeral home
Mary was born July 12, 1928 to William Wesley and Sybil (Finley) Hunnicutt in San Antonio, Texas. She was a longtime resident of Marlin and a member of St. John Episcopal Church. Mary was instrumental in starting Marlin Branch of the Waco Marlin Federal Credit Union. She was co-owner with her husband, W. A. (Bill) Price, Jr. of Price Realtors and Guaranty Abstract & Title Company.
Mary had a variety of hobbies and interests and was involved in various organizations including: Regent of the Elizabeth Gordon Bradley Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution; She was local historian and member of the Falls County Historical Society; an artist and member of the Marlin Art League; instrumental in starting the Falls Community Hospital and Clinic “Auxiliary”. Additionally, she lived a life of unwavering faith in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and had a passion for the Word and prayer as exemplified by her completion of 7 years with BSF (Bible Study Fellowship Intl) and her leadership in the local Daughters of King. She had a passion for travel and made numerous trips to Europe, Central and South America.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; husband, W. A. (Bill) Price, Jr., step-son, William E. Price, step-daughter, Virginia Price Eden, sister, Pearl Hunnicutt Shryock and brother, William W. Hunnicutt III;
She leaves behind to cherish her memories, sons, Philip Price, Sr. of Waco and wife, Marissa; George Steven Price and wife, Lisabeth of Marlin; Bryson H. Price and wife, Elza of Dallas; Howard B. Price of Cypress; step-son, James E. Price and wife, Estelle Carter of Dallas; step-daughter, Mary Ann Price Close and husband, Ralph of Ramrod Key, Florida; 16 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to St. John’s Episcopal Church, Marlin, Texas.
