Oscar E. Dieterich

Oscar Ernest Dieterich, 87, a longtime Falls County resident passed away Thursday, May 30, 2013 in a Waco nursing home. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM, Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at Adams Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Robert Kitson officiating. Entombment will follow in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Riesel, TX. The family will receive friends on Monday, June 3rd from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Adams Funeral Home, Marlin, TX.

Mr. Dieterich was born on July 8, 1925 in Otto, Texas to Ernest and Gretchen Berndt Dieterich. He married Lucille Grote on July 22, 1946 in Riesel and they celebrated almost 59 wonderful years together until her death on June 7, 2005. On February 12, 2006 he married Helen Baker and they celebrated over 4 years together until her death on February 25, 2010. Mr. Dieterich worked for the State of Texas for over 29 years and was an independent contractor for over 20 years. He loved working; especially running a road grader, gardening, farming, and raising cattle. He also loved to go out dancing. Mr. Dieterich was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Riesel, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Alvin and Lawrence Dieterich and sisters, Lydia Mae Dieterich and Mabel Woodward.

Survivors include his daughter, Antonette Peterson and her fiancé, Anthony Carew of Brandon, Florida; sons, Rodney Dieterich and his wife, Dori of Riesel; Anthony Dieterich and his wife, Debra also of Riesel; brothers, Leonard Dieterich, Ernest Dieterich and Kenneth Dieterich; sisters, Della Heckmann and Florence Shockley; grandchildren, Tonya Dieterich, Jake Dieterich, Ryan Dieterich, Colton Dieterich, Sarah Beth Dieterich, Jason Peterson and Stefan Peterson; great grandchildren, Lydia Peterson, Ryleigh Peterson, and Corbin Peterson.

The family would like to express many heartfelt thanks and appreciation to Wesley Woods Healthcare Center nurses, aids, and staff and to Providence Hospice for their wonderful care of our loved one.

The family suggests memorials be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, Riesel, Texas.
