R. L. Kuretsch

Robert Lee (R.L.) Kuretsch, 91, of Otto, passed away in a Waco hospital. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Sunday, December 11, 2022 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Riesel with the Reverend Larry Knobloch officiating. Interment will follow in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery.

R.L. was born on March 3, 1931 in Otto, Texas to Eddie and Lydia (Bletsch) Kuretsch and was a lifelong resident of the Otto Community. He was baptized at Trinity Lutheran Church in Riesel, Texas. He married Annice Woltman at St. Paul Evangelical & Reformed Church on October 19, 1952 in St. Paul and they celebrated over 70 wonderful years together. R.L. served his country in the United States Army. He was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Riesel, Texas where he served in numerous capacities. He was also an active member of the Falls County Youth Fair, and the Otto Community Center. R.L. enjoyed hunting, fishing and the outdoors. He was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was a lifetime farmer and rancher in in the Otto community and took great pride in his work. R.L. was preceded in death by his parents, brother; Ervin Kuretsch and sister; Ruth Miller.

Survivors include his sons; Bobby Kuretsch and his wife, Faye, John Kuretsch and his wife, Katie, grandchildren; Kerri Walker and her husband, Cody, Christy Pavelka and her husband, Phillip, Skylar Rapp and her husband, Vince, Aidan Kuretsch, Emory Kuretsch, Bree Kuretsch and Ellie Kuretsch, great grandchildren; Luke Walker, Jake Walker, Hadleigh Pavelka and Hank Pavelka, sisters-in-law; Leona Papendorf and Florine Pankonien, and brother-in-law; Robert I. Miller, and several nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Pallbearers include Cody Walker, Phillip Pavelka, Aidan Kuretsch, Emory Kuretsch, Bobby Miller and Bubba Bennett.

Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church in Riesel, Texas.
