Roy Gene Zander II

Roy Gene Zander, II, 54, of Riesel, passed away Friday, July 25, 2014 in Georgia. Funeral services will be 3:00 PM, Friday, August 1, 2014 at Perry Methodist Church with the Reverend Ron Oden officiating. Interment will follow in Perry Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:30 PM on Thursday, July 31st at Adams Funeral Home in Marlin.

Mr. Zander was born on December 18, 1959 in Panama City, Florida to Roy and DeAnna (Davis) Zander. He married Tamara Oates on June 19, 1994 in Niagara Falls and they celebrated over 20 wonderful years together. Mr. Zander worked for Latex Construction the past 7 years; he was a member of Pipeline Local Union 798 and has been in the pipeline business for 40 years. He loved to fish, collect tools, work, fabrication and building things. Mr. Zander was an animal lover and took great joy in his children and young grandchildren. He was a member of Rocky Hill Missionary Baptist church and loved to study his Bible. His son Roy Gene Zander III preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife; Tamara Zander of Riesel, parents; Roy and DeAnna Zander of Riesel, son; Aubrey Zander of Riesel, daughters; Amy Zander of Harrisonville, Missouri and Ariel Blanco and her husband, Aaron of Harvey, Louisiana, step son; Zac Baptist of Huntington, Texas, sisters; Audrey Zander Mudge and her husband, Dickey of Belle Chasse, Louisiana and Lisa Zander Becnel and her husband, David of Belle Chasse, Louisiana, grandchildren; Aubrey E. Zander of Algiers, Louisiana, Zailyn Baptist of Riesel and Cree Baptist of Riesel and several nieces and nephews in Texas and Louisiana.
