Shelton L. Grote

Shelton L. Grote, 64, of Riesel, passed away Tuesday, December 2, 2014 in a Waco hospital. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, December 6, 2014 at Perry United Methodist Church with the Reverend Ron Oden officiating. Interment will follow in Perry United Methodist Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 Pm – 7:00 PM on Friday, December 5th at Adams Funeral Home.

Mr. Grote was born on January 16, 1950 in Waco to George and Ruby (Neal) Grote. He married Gail Wieting on February 5, 1977 in Perry and they celebrated over 37 wonderful years together. Mr. Grote worked for Allen Samuels Chevrolet from 1985 to 2009. He loved music, playing the guitar, singing, vintage cars and hotrods but his true love was being with his family. Mr. Grote was a member of Perry United Methodist Church. His parents preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife; Gail Grote of Riesel, daughters; Stacy Grote Pope and her husband, Joe of Speegleville and Stephanie Grote Mims and her husband, Robert of Sugarland, son; Michael Grote of Riesel, brother; Larry Grote and his wife, Anita of Marlin, grandchildren; Emaline and Logan Hargraves and their parents; Robert and Tiffany Hargraves, father and mother-in-law; Nelson and Emeline Wieting and sister-in-law; Nelly Hegefeld and her husband, Bill of Marlin.

Pallbearers will be; Lynn Grote, Steven Grote, Justin Hegefeld, Lance Hegefeld, Ron Maiden, Harold Grote, John Hrynyk and Lynn Gafford. Honorary Pallbearers will be Darrell Grote, Garland, Lessman, Dean Lessman, Kenneth Shaw, Dirk Aaron, Lindsey Hazelwood, Larry Schroder and Shane Howard.
