Steven "Cody" McMahan

A memorial service for Cody will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, July 20, 2024 at Adams Funeral Home, 129 Coleman Street, Marlin, Texas 76661.

Cody was born the oldest son of Susan Cohn McMahan and Steven Don McMahan in Fort Worth Texas on March 4, 1986. He attended school in Marlin and Leander, Texas then got his GED when he turned 17. Steven then went to work for his father where he learned many facets of the construction industry.

In March 2006, Cody became the happy father of Dacoda Skylar McMahan and one of the proudest moments of his life was seeing his son graduate from high school in May. One of their favorite things to do together was going fishing, especially at the family farm where Cody has enjoyed fishing all his life. Cody was always kind and caring to everyone he met and if you were fortunate enough to be his friend he was loyal and had a genuine love for you. His greatest love was for his family who he loved fiercely. Some of his fondest memories were from traveling all over the US with his grandparents, Gary and Judy Cohn; with his favorite being camping and fishing trips to Colorado along with hunting trips in Texas.

He is survived by his son Dacoda Skylar McMahan, his mother Susan Cohn-McMahan, of Marlin, his grandparents Gary L and Judy Koehne Cohn of Arlington, Texas, his brothers Dylan McMahan of Marlin, Timothy Fox and wife, Jaclyn of Cedar Park, Texas, and Robert Fox, Jr. and wife, Jessica of Bertram, Texas, stepbrother Jason Wells and wife, Callie of Loveland Colorado, uncle Douglas McMahan and wife, Glenda of Mansfield, Texas, aunt Dianne McMahan Meredith of Granbury, Texas, cousins Christi Martin and husband, Chad of Waxahachie, Texas, Cassie Handlin and husband, Jason of Midlothian, Texas and stepmother Carly McMahan Mercer of Tennessee. He was also very close to distant cousins Charlotte Cohn of Marlin and Jennifer Davis Lilly and husband, Alex of Watauga, Texas as well as Annette Guerrero Friddle "AuntNut" of Cedar Park, Texas and Linda Johnson of Marlin. He was preceded in death by his father Steven Don McMahan, great grandparents Robert "RL" and Mattie Mae Cohn, Fred and Lillian Koehne, Correlius "Bud" and Dora Buel McMahan, and Arthur and Ruth Cooper, grandparents Paul and Patricia McMahan, as well as special family Sherry Goddard Fox and Melody Cook Smith.

Honorary Pallbearers are his great friends Dean Waddington, Joe Contella, Michael McDonald, Cody Miller, Franklin Friddle, Nathan Buster, Ricky Smith, Mical Roberts, Jake Rowland, Jeremy Venagas, Ronnie Rodriguez Jr., George Bosnak, and Sammy Bosnak Jr.
