

Albert John Abadie, Jr. (Kippy) entered into eternal rest on April 2, 2026, at the age of 76. He was born on May 23, 1949. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Vivian Brandt Abadie. He is also survived by his two sons, Albert III (Jerilyn) and Nicholas Sr. (Nicole) and his three grandchildren, Ally (Elise), Emma, and Nicholas Jr. He is preceded in death by his parents, Albert Sr. and Bernice Dugas Abadie, and his sister, Diane Abadie.
Albert was born in New Orleans, and lived most of his life in Marrero. He also spent 17 years living in Dugway, Utah, and Blackfoot, Idaho, before returning home to Marrero. He was a proud U.S Army veteran who served in the Vietnam War. After serving his country, he enjoyed a lifelong career in law enforcement for a variety of police departments in southeast Louisiana and in the federal system. Albert was also a firearms instructor for many years, which he enjoyed immensely. He enjoyed riding his bicycle, and rode for many miles on each trip. He also enjoyed traveling, and visited most of the 50 states throughout his life with his wife at his side, along with his beloved canine companions on later trips.
The family would like to send heartfelt thanks to St. Joseph Hospice. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, April 18, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Marrero Estelle Fire Department located at 2248 Barataria Blvd. in Marrero. Please dress casually to honor Al, who hated to dress up. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Vietnam Veterans of America or the Wounded Warrior Project.
