You were one of a kind and to know you was to love you. I don’t know if you could ever understand what you meant to me and how precious you were in my eyes and how thankful I am that I was able to know and love you and he loved by you in return. Thank you for all you did to help my kiddo in the time y’all were friends and a couple. Thank you for the way you loved on and supported my other kiddos too. Thank you for just being you. The world is much less bright without your light shining in it. I love you, Lex, and I’ll miss that sweet face. 

The only light in the darkness of grief is gratitude. So I want to talk about her life. Her absolutely amazing wonderful life, working toward her dream job, creating art, being with the love of her life, constantly surrounded by amazing family and finally able to attend her delayed graduation ceremony at Loyola. I will forever be grateful my life was graced by Alexis Dillon. 

I am so very grateful that our paths crossed, in large part to our Loyola connections, and she finally attended the delayed graduation ceremony at Loyola. I’m grateful I not only got to see that amazing smile, but that I captured it in photos. You can see her light and her self appreciation of this great achievement. 

I’m grateful for her time at Xplore; she was the missing piece our team needed. She was able to create so much in what felt like such little time, and she was heading toward great things. 

I’m grateful that Voodoo Fest was cancelled, because no one gets to go without her this year. 

Though she wasn’t with us near long enough, she gave this world so very much art in her short time here. She will definitely live forever through her art. Very deep loss for everyone that knew her, and those that missed the opportunity to see her shine.  

I’ll miss you a ton señorita.

My dear best friend, my AMD, my rock since 3rd grade, my bandaid, Alexis Dillon. I can't believe you're gone and this is really real life. You mean the world to me and I'm really lost without you right now. Please hold your loved ones extra tight and really let them know how much you love them. Alexis and I never got off the phone without telling each other we loved one another, and I'm so thankful for that. I'm grateful for our amazing friendship and the family that took me in like one of their own. I'm heart broken my baby won't get to meet their caring, genuine, rock out auntie but baby will sure know Alexis was truly my best friend and one of the best people in the world. CCB loves you for ever and always, until we meet again best friend.

You were so smart, giving, caring, and beautiful.  You would give your shirt off your back to give to someone else who needed. Thank you for being there for me. Thank you for everything.  Thank you for just being you. Thank you for the memories, laughs, and telling me advice in a legal and mature way. Imma need a manager thoe. “Inside joke” 

Words are so inadequate to express how heartbroken I am for Alexis and all of her family and friends who are grieving her loss. She became friends with my daughter when they were kids, and through their friendship my family became friends with her family. Jeremy, Laura and Angelle, I am so sorry that you are experiencing this pain. Alexis was a special person and I admired her smarts, her determination and her sense of fun. Love you, Alexis.

Having only known Alexis for a short period of time, she made such a positive impact on Xplore and me, personally.  She and I shared a favorite NOLA Artist and she had such a love of music and shared with me that she and her dad loved going to Peaches in search of vinyl albums.    

Alexis was on so excited about her job, her new house and life.  I'm so very sad that this precious life was cut short at such a young age.  

You will be missed, Alexis.  

You were the first baby I ever gave a bottle to. I remember you being about 2 and you would would dance to Everybody Get Your Roll On. I remember when you and Angelle were about 7 and  kept making Tipper play dead until that poor dog was so tired. After your grandmother passed I remember coming down to see y’all and we were inseparable. I didn’t get to see you nearly as much as I would have liked but, my god, you were the sun, the stars, and the moon to me. You were easy to love and I am going to miss you so much Baby Girl. Auntie loves you so much.
