

Antoine James Guidry, better known as Tony/Rookie Guidry, age 66, died on Tuesday, May 5, 2014. He was born in New Orleans on January 9, 1947, to the late Alvine Peltier Guidry and Carroll Joseph Guidry of Westwego. He was a 1965 graduate of West Jefferson High School. He attended Delgado College and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Electronics. He was a Vietnam Veteran and served his country in the United States Army. He was employed by Union Carbide for 32 years and a long standing resident of Jefferson Parish. He is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Susan Cashio Guidry. He is the beloved brother of Heslin Guidry (Judy), Ann Palermo (Salvador “Sal”), Elaine Cuny (Gus), Andrea Weber (Charlie) and the late Carolyn Madere (Robert). Also survived by a host of loving nieces and nephews.
Rookie was an avid fisherman who would spend every minute of the day on the water, loved to watch his wife garden, and spending time with family and friends.
