

Betty May Cimo, who loved to be called MiMi by her family passed away on Tuesday, May 3, 2022. She was 87 years old and was born September 22, 1934, in New Orleans, Louisiana. She was very loved and will be missed terribly.
Betty was a caring and lovable woman who throughout her lifetime devoted herself to her religion and was known as a “prayer warrior.” Betty was a remarkable cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family especially meatballs and red gravy. For many years leading up to her passing she collected a large library of cookbooks and loved to watch the cooking channel. She also loved gardening and collecting a variety of succulent plants.
Betty was predeceased by her husband, Lawrence Henry Cimo, her mother Carrie Josephine Rohr, and her father Leslie Stephen Luening. Betty is survived by her sister Diana Mary Rohr. She also is survived by her daughter, Tyese McDonald and her husband Joe, her son Henry Cimo and his wife Jamie, her daughter Lauri Lanthier and her husband Patrick, and her Godson/nephew Gerard Larmeu and his wife Denise. She is also survived by three grandsons, William Blaise Borges III, and his wife Kritsten, Jason Henry Cimo and his wife Christine, and Joshua Bennet Borges. She had two great grandchildren, William Blaise Borges IV, and Charley Claire Borges.
A visitation for Betty will be held Saturday, May 7, 2022, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Westside/Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway, Marrero, LA 70072, followed by a funeral service from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
