Betty Jean Pritchett

Betty Miller Pritchett, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on December 5, 2010 at the age of 74. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald Edward Pritchett Sr., of 58 years, her mother Evelyn Elizabeth Nixon, her father Clarence Daniel Miller, and her brother Peter Daniel Miller. A wonderful, loving mother of Donald, Jr. “Donnie” (Myra), Sandra (Wendell), Dwayne (Chris), Julie (Jose), Tina (Gary) and Rodney (Dawn). A loving grandmother to 19 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by 3 sisters: Vashti Shores, Loralynn Lara-Gomez, Fern Simmons, sister-in-law Joyce Miller, Angie Pritchett, brother-in-law Bennie Pritchett and numerous nieces and nephews. Betty worked at Ochsner Clinic for 17 years, before retiring. The family wishes to express their appreciation to Dr. Larned and staff of Ochsner Clinic and Ochsner Hospital for their kind and helpful services during her illness. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory at the American Cancer Society. Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass in her honor at WESTSIDE/LEITZ-EAGAN FUNERAL HOME, 5101 WESTBANK EXPRESSWAY, MARRERO, LA, at 6:00 PM on Friday December 17, 2010.
