Clarice Marie Bartholomew

Clarice Marie “Alligator” Bartholomew passed away peacefully in her sleep on March 24, 2018 at the age of 79. Born September 2, 1938 in Buras, Louisiana to the late Arthur Encalade and Myrtle Rodi-Duplessis. Clarice was a loving wife and mother who was known for her big heart, devotion to The Lord, and her excellent cooking. She loved to be outdoors, fishing, and spending time with her grandchildren. Leaving behind many family members and friends to cherish her memory, Clarice is survived by her two sons, Doyle “Tippy” Bartholomew (Stacie) and Neal Bartholomew Sr. (Jackie); Brother, Calvin Ray Duplessis (Melanie); Eight Grandchildren, Whitney Close (Brad), Wade Bartholomew (Jeannet), Darren Bartholomew, Angela Bartholomew, Sean Bartholomew (Courtney), Jared Bartholomew, Adrieanna Hill, and Alexandra Heiba (Mohamed); Fourteen Great Grandchildren and one great-great grandchild (with two more on the way). Also survived by a host of nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Herbert Albert Bartholomew; Mother, Myrtle Rodi- Duplessis; Father, Arthur J. Encalade; Father, Alphonse Duplessis, One brother, Clayton Rudy Encalade; and one grandchild, Neal Wade Bartholomew Jr. Friends are encouraged to attend funeral services on Wednesday, March 28 2018. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00am, with visitation from 9:00am-11:00am. Interment at Our Lady of Good Harbor Cemetery will follow Mass.
