Darrin Joseph Hartman

Darrin Joseph Hartman passed away on Wednesday, June 25, 2025 at the age of 62. He was born in Metairie, Louisiana to Marlene S. Hartman and the late Herman J. Hartman, Jr. Devoted husband Vicki Hartman. Loving father of Samantha M. Hartman. Cousin of Sandy DiFebbo (Matt), Glenn Pertuit and Nolan Pertuit (Payton). Darrin is also survived by other extended family and dear friends.

Darrin was a graduate of Archbishop Shaw High School in the class of 1981 and the University of New Orleans where he received his degree in Accounting. He continued his education in Texas and received his Masters degree. He was employed for the United States government many years, beginning at the Internal Revenue Service and then transferred to the Department of Defense as an auditor in Dallas, Texas.

Darrin enjoyed going to concerts, traveling and he truly enjoyed going out to eat. His favorite was Cajun food, especially crawfish, which he often missed while living in Dallas. Dallas Magazine once released a list of the best burgers in the city, and Darrin made it his mission to take Samantha to every single one. He loved burgers, and it became a fun tradition they shared together. He also had a signature Starbucks order: a venti mocha frappuccino with four pumps of hazelnut. He stopped there so often on his way to work that he became a regular and was even invited to one of his barista’s weddings. Most of all, Darrin loved spending time with his family and his dogs, Fella and Bernie. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.

A memorial graveside will be held on Friday, July 25, 2025 at 9:00 AM at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Cemetery, 531 Ave A in Westwego, Louisiana.
