 Hi Nicky, It's been almost a year, although it seems like yesterday.  I know you are watching Jeanette and the kids from above with a big smile on your face. As we reflect on our own lives, we all hope to leave a legacy when we leave this life. You, my dear brother-in-law have. Your legacy is the ...five fine men and two fine women you and Jeanette raised. We know it wasn't always easy, but you did a great job! I know you are proud of each and every one of them. Nickie was a wonderful loving father, grandfather, and hard working man. He was a wonderful role model for his beautiful family and his infectious smile and hearty laugh will be missed! He was a wonderful cousin, brother, husband, father, son, and grandfather!

Hi Buras family...I remember Nickie as a typical Buras. He was always kind and loving. When they were all kids Uncle Glenn and I would bring donuts and ice cream when we would go over there. So much more,but don'thave the space. I just want to say that after Uncle Glenn and I split I always kept up with you guys through my kids. Will always keep you guys in my prayers. I always say Nicky and Micheal are Ronnie made over.

When I first met Nickie, he was sixteen years old. He and Jeanette fell in love, got married and had 7 kids.  He was a hard worker and a man of his word.  Me and Walt co-signed for him to get his first good truck in the 1980's and he never let us down. Even after a long day at work, he'd help Jeanette with the kids and run back to the store to get milk or diapers.  I don't ever remember hearing him say "No" to anyone's request.  He was there for anyone who needed him. To the very end, he was such a giving person.  And family meant everything to him.  He loved his kids more than his own life and he proved it over and over again. He was a good role model for his kids and for others around him as he battled cancer. He has left behind such wonderful memories that when I think of Big Nick, I smile.

A wonderful husband and father. I know he will be missed greatly by his family and friends. Heaven gained a great one.

We were extremely blessed to know such a wonderful man. He loved his Lord and his beautiful family with all of his heart.

Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal!!!happy that i got the chance to knowing him even if it was just for a lil time i wont ever forget the way he treat me and call me (suazo) ; i will remember him like the man that always want and did the best for his family and always wanna teach something sad that I will never get to go fish with him but happy that he has fallen in jesus' net!             THE MEMORIES THAT HIS LOVE LEFT ENGRAVED ON THE HEART OF PEOPLE WHO KNOW HIM  WILL NEVER BE ERASED.

To our children,
     You have all been so strong through this difficult time. I know we have a long way to go and will never fully recover. We are all walking a path that there is no map to. We are not alone though, we are together. With our faith in God and love for each we will walk this road with our heads held high because we are better people having been touched by your Father. He was not a highly educated man but he taught us lessons that scholars only dream of bestowing upon their students. Little did we know we were pupils in his class. We were in his home filled with food made from love and served with his wisdom tenderly blended in.

Thanks so much for all your thoughts and prayers. Nickie's memory will live on in his children and grandchildren. He has left a huge hole in our lives but we know he is at rest. We are relying on God and the strength of each other to get us through each day. I see so much of him in our children. He taught them well.~ He will always be in out hearts.~

Jeanette I am so sorry to hear about your husband. Please if you need anything let me know you and your family will continue to be in my prayers.

my dearest jeanette, i did not know that nicky had passed away until today. i am so sorry, my love. i know how you are feeling right now. my husband, ronald passed away 3 years ago and my dad last year. may god be with you and your family. may he give you all the relief that you need at this time. i will be praying for you and your family. all my love always.

My Dad -my Superhero, I will miss you more than words can express.  You were the example of a caring father, a loving husband, a devoted worker, and a faithful child of God.  Thank you for teaching me these things.  I am so proud to have you as my father.  I will continue to work to make you proud of me -your eldest daughter.

Aunt Jeanette and family words cannot express how sorry we are for this devastating loss.Uncle Nickie was truly a blessing to all of us and will be truly missed. We were blessed to have been a part of his life.
