Mr. Douglas Barney Stinson Sr.

Douglas Barney Stinson, Sr. passed away on Sunday, June 16, 2013 while participating in the Great Huey P. Long Bridge Run. He was 59. Beloved husband of Wanda Stinson of 41 years. Father of Rebecca Stinson of Marrero, Samantha Theriot (James) of Marrero, April Stilley (Eric), Raleigh, North Carolina, Douglas, Jr. (Tiffanie) of Gretna, and Matthew Stinson of Marrero. Brother of Richard C. Stinson (Sandy), Ruthie Cagle (Art), Francis Fox (Buddy), Edna Pearl Petrella, Orlene Corey, Christine Glenn, Catherine Morris, Wayne Stinson (Martha), sister-in-law Marie Stinson; and the late Charles Stinson, William H. Reneau, Earl Stinson, Orey Stinson, Clifford Stinson, Mebaline Blackman, and Sybil Gavins. Also survived by 11 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, family members, friends, and co-workers. Son of the late Mary L. Stinson and Emmett Stinson. He was a native of Frisco City, Alabama and resident of Marrero for 39 years. He was a supervisor for Cooper Consolidated. He enjoyed fishing, Mechanic work, spending time with family, taking cruises, and running. Relatives and Friends of the Family are invited to attend the Funeral Service, officiated by Rev. Roy Barker, from Westside Leitz-Eagan, 5101 Westbank Expressway, Marrero, on Thursday Morning, June 20th, 2013 at 11:00. Visitation will be held on Wednesday Evening from 5:00 until 9:00, and resuming on Thursday from 9:00 until service time. Interment will be in Westlawn Memorial Park, Gretna.
