Earl Joseph Dufrene

Earl Joseph Dufrene passed away on Thursday, April 26, 2018 at the age of 78. He was the beloved husband of Joan Choate Dufrene for over 61 years. Father of Jeffrey Dufrene (Peggy), Kevin Dufrene (Carmen), Earline Dufrene, and the late Margaret Dufrene. Grandfather of Amy, Ethan, Daisy, Salah, Devin, Felicie, and the late Raven. Great grandfather of Destin, Garrett, Gracie, Eli, Michelle, and the late Addison. Son of the late Sylvester and Edith Dufrene. Brother of Enola Dufrene, as well as the late Evelyn, Dorothy, Bertile, Wilma, Ruby, Silas, Willie, Manuel, Riley, J.D., and Joseph.

He worked at Avondale Shipyards for 7 years before starting his own business in 1965, working in Plumbing and Gas, and was a Plumbing and Gas Inspector for the City of Westwego for 38 years. He was a native of Cutoff, LA. He had three influential pastors in his life, Bro. Don Chance, Sister Debbie Prejean, and Bro. Michael Verdin.

A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel of Westside Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway, on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at 11:00 AM. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM. Rev.
