

Early Bernard Prejean, Jr. as born September 22, 1959. He passed away on June 24, 2014 surrounded by loved ones. He was a life-long resident of Algiers, LA. Early is survived by his father Early “Brother” Prejean, Sr., his devoted wife; Nickie Prejean, daughters; Barbara Marie Cantwell (Kim, Jr.) and Jamie Rae Hampton, stepson; Errol J. Mayfield and stepdaughter; Brittney Nicole Combel. His loss will be forever felt by his loving sister; Sue Ann Bruce (Gus) and two brothers; Keith Michael Prejean and Thomas Patrick PreJean (Tonya). Early was a wonderful “Paw-Paw” to his 9 grandchildren; Thomas, Claudia, Hayley, Taegan, Madeleine, Alexis, Julie, Raylen, and Willow. He will be greatly missed by his nieces; Jessica (Glenn), Angele’, Alyssa, Ali, McKenna, and McKaela, his great nephews; Julien and Gunner, and great niece Gabrielle. He will also be dearly remembered by innumerable other relatives and friends. Early was preceded in death by his mother Harriet (Susie) Prejean and niece Cherie’ Prejean. Early attended Holy Name of Mary Elementary School. He was a graduate of Archbishop Shaw High School (1978). Early spend 32 years working for Entergy in various positions. He was a member of the Algiers Irish Rebels and enjoyed participating in parades and events every year. Early enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with those he loved. His memory will go on throught all the lives he touched throught out his life, words cannot express the loss felt by all who knew him. Early was a wonderful son, father, husband, brother, grandfather, uncle, son-in-law, brother-in-law, father-in-law, godfather and friend. His family and friends will also remember his contagious laugh, kind soul and generous nature. He’s pain is gone. “Perhaps they are not stars in the sky, but rather openings where our loved ones shine down to let us know they are happy.” Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Holy Name of Mary Church, 400 Verret Street, Algiers Point, LA on Saturday June 28, 2014 at 11:00 AM. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM until Mass at Holy Name of Mary Church.
