Edgar Joseph Simon Jr. "EJ"

Edgar Joseph Simon, Jr. "EJ" was delivered home on January 27, 2022 at the age of 84. He was born on October 8, 1937 in New Orleans, Louisiana to the late Edgar Joseph, Sr. and Eugenia Lucas Simon. He was the beloved husband of 49 years to the late Lrline "Earline" Mayeaux Simon. Loving father Denise Albarado (Jimmy), Darlene Lohr (Ronnie), Dorene Howell (Allan), Danny Simon (Gina) and the late Dennis Louis Simon. Proud grandfather of Milfred "Boogie" Baye (Laurie), Mindy Baye, Jennifer Albarado, Chantel Griffin (Steven), Connie Ogle (Gary), Casey Hano (Bob), Taylor Howell (Nykki), Kimberly Howell (Jesse), Josh Simon (Madison) and the late Miranda "Randi" Simon. Great-grandfather of Jordan, Celeste, Hailee, Katie, Sara, Emma, Johnathan, Jackson, Mia, Riley, Marshall, Lainey and baby Lalonde. Great-great-grandfather of Kaden, Jacob, Jr. and baby Baye. He is also survived by his girlfriend Renee Childress and all of the Childress family, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

EJ was a member of the Carpenters Local 1846 and worked for King & Co. until he retired in 1996. He was an active member of Holy Guardian Angels Parish and was recognized by the Archdiocese for all of his dedicated services. He was crowned "King Creole the 9th" and "Father of the Year" and was a member of the Bridge City Senior Center.

EJ loved cooking, fishing, bowling, and going to the casinos but most of all, spending time with his loved ones. Family meant the most to him. He enjoyed making memories with his grandchildren.

Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial visitation on Saturday, February 19, 2022 beginning at 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Westside/Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway, Marrero. Funeral service will begin at 1:00 PM and committal service will be held at a later date.
