

She was born Elaine Ann Orgeron on January 30, 1944, in Harvey, Louisiana. She married Ramos "Nene" Gonzales in 1964 and was a loving and devoted wife until his passing in 2005. Elaine's family was her greatest joy and she loved spending time with them. Some of her favorite past-times included family seafood boils, trips to the zoo, card games, and holiday celebrations. Elaine enjoyed dancing to Swamp Pop, cooking family meals, and watching reality TV. She battled cancer bravely and was "feisty" until the end.
Elaine was preceded in death by her parents Oral Orgeron Sr. and Eula Folse Orgeron, husband Ramos “Nene” Gonzales, siblings Larry Ogeron and Slyvia Thibodaux. She is survived by her children Regina Hinson (the late Vernon), Veronica Nicholas (Ken), Ramos Gonzales Jr (Laurie), her brother Oral “OJ” Ogeron Jr. (Denise), her grandchildren Cameron Nicholas (Savanna), Kai Nicholas, Addison Hinson, Zachary Hinson, Tyler Gonzales, Claire Gonzales, and her great-grandchildren Ragean Trotter and namesake, Kennedy Elaine Nicholas.
Elaine was a beloved wife, mother, aunt, and Granny, who will be missed by many. The family thanks Heart of Hospice nurses and staff for their care over the last three months. Family and friends are invited to attend Visitation on Friday, May 19, 2023, from 10:00 until the Memorial Service at 1:00 at Westside/ Leitz-Egan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expy, Marrero, La.
