Eugene Joseph Sarah Jr.

Eugene J. “Brother” Sarah Jr. passed away on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at the age of 68, surrounded by his family. Born to the late Eugene J. Sarah Sr. and Mercy Plaisance Sarah in New Orleans, but was raised in Westwego and resided for many years in Marrero. Devoted husband of Mrs. Kathy Fabre Sarah for almost 47 years. Loving father of Gina Sarah (Ronnie), Eugene J. Sarah III (Shelly), Patrick Sarah (Lauren), and Patricia Sarah (Dean). Cherished grandfather of Maghen Sarah, Courtney Schmidt, Tristan Sarah, Morgan Sarah, Mason Correnti, Ian Correnti, Kaiden Lagarde, Makayla Lagarde, Kalaya Gonzalez, Kaylee Williams, Zoey Sarah, Clarence Laicen Lacombe IV, Kazz Fontanille, alyssa Fontanille, and Joshua Fontanille. Great grandfather of Tristan Sarah Jr., and Annabeth Schmidt. Brother of Judy Gehring (the late Ralph), Malcolm Sarah (Sandra), Gladys Gautreaux (Gary), and Michael Sarah (Wendy). Godfather of Heidi Ford and Malcolm Sarah Jr. He is also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

He retired from Versabar, Inc. in Belle Chasse where he was a heavy equipment operator. Before that he worked off shore for many years. He was a loving father and husband, who loved family gatherings. He loved working on his 1966 Chevrolet Chevelle and sitting out by the point on the river in Harvey.
