A native of Crowley, LA, he was a long time resident of Avondale, before moving to Mississippi after he retired. He was a long time employee of Avondale Shipyard, eventually retiring from there. He was always doing something. He loved fishing, camping, woodworking, and LSU Baseball. He made a yearly pilgrimage to Omaha for the College World Series, even those few years LSU did not. He always took Mardi Gras beads with him and was affectionately known as "Frank, the bead man". He spent time after retirement selling produce, especially home boiled peanuts and watermelon.
