Gerril "Swole" Joseph Clement

Gerril Joseph Clement (Swole) entered peacefully into heaven on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 surrounded by his loving family at the age of 75. Gerril is preceded in death by his mother, Lucy Torres Clement and father, Adley C. Clement; sister Catherine May Clement. Gerril is survived by his devoted wife, Maggie Thompson Clement of 48 years and his daughter, Stephanie C. Loerwald (partner Keenon LeBlanc) and his late son-in-law, Kenneth E. Loerwald. A proud grandfather of Jason Loerwald (Rachelle), Jared Loerwald (Megan), Jonathan Jeanice (girlfriend Jessica) and his great grandchildren, Kelsey Loerwald, Kayle Loerwald, Jace Loerwald and Rhett Loerwald. He is also survived by numerous loving other relatives and friends who will dearly miss him.

“Swole” was born November 8, 1938 in Thibodaux, LA, a graduate of West Jefferson High School and served his country in the United States Army and worked for Underwood Glass Company, Avondale Service Foundry and Amite Foundry. Upon his retirement he worked for Tiger Equipment and Supply. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family and friends cooking crawfish with his grandsons. The family would like to thank the staff and Dr. Vijay Patel for their compassionate care given to Gerril.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Westside Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway, Marrero, LA on Friday, May 16, 2014 at 1:00 pm. Visitation from 9:00 am to funeral time.
