Gregory Louis Holmes

It is with profound sadness that the family of Gregory Louis Holmes announce his passing on September 23, 2021, at the age of 57, following a lengthy battle with COVID. He is survived by three children, Hollie Ann Holmes, Daven Louis Holmes and Gabriella Maria Holmes; long-time companion Hazel Rodriguez and seven siblings, Eugene “Butch” Holmes (Debra), Theresa Holmes Flor (Juan), Cynthia Holmes Knecht (Shane), James Holman (Tina), Daniel Holmes (Corina), Richard Holmes (Aletha) and Stacy Holmes Gaudin (Scott). He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Gregory was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene Orville and Betty Gasquet Holmes.

Greg was gifted with the uncanny ability to bring laughter to any circumstance. He lit up the room with his comedic antics, whether on stage performing or with family, cracking his latest jokes. Even on a bad day, Greg made you smile and laugh at life. He will be profoundly missed by all that knew and loved him.

Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate his life with a memorial service to be held on Saturday, October 2, 2021 beginning at 4:00pm until 8:00pm at Westside/Leitz-Egan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway, Marrero, LA 70072.
