Hubert Martin Gauthreaux III

It is with great sadness that we announce the tragic passing of Hubert Martin Gauthreaux, III, on January 1, 2025. Born on June 19, 2003, Hubert brought immense joy and love into the lives of his parents, Brent and Rami Gauthreaux, and his sister, Brooke Gauthreaux.

Hubert attended St. Cletus Elementary School and graduated in 2021 from Archbishop Shaw High School, where he made many lifelong friends. After high school, Hubert pursued a career in the oil field industry, working as an NDE Technician alongside his father.

A natural athlete and avid sports fan, Hubert’s first love was baseball, a sport he played with passion. He was a devoted fan of the New Orleans Saints, holding season tickets and rarely missing a game. He also enjoyed attending many Tulane baseball and football games.

Hubert had a heart of gold that shined through his infectious smile. His kindness, humor, and boundless capacity for love touched everyone who knew him. He always made sure his friends and family felt his affection and care.

Hubert is survived by his loving grandparents Hubert (Whitey) and Victoria Gauthreaux, Diane Blanda, and Russell Boutte. He is preceded in death by his grandfather Phillip Blanda, Sr. He will be deeply missed by his aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and all whose lives he brightened.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all family and friends, as well as members of the community, for the outpouring of love during this difficult time. We would also like to express our sincere appreciation to the Governor’s Office, the Louisiana State Police, the City of Gretna, Archbishop Shaw High School, and the staff at Westside/Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home for their support and compassion.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00PM on Saturday, January 11, 2025 at Archbishop Shaw High School Gymnasium, 1000 Salesian Lane in Marrero, Louisiana. The funeral Mass will be officiated by Hubert's uncle, Fr. William Blanda. A visitation will begin at 11:00AM and continue until 1:00PM. Following the Mass, Hubert will be laid to rest at Westlawn Park Cemetery, 1225 Whitney Avenue in Gretna, Louisiana.
