Ian Adonis Mena

Ian Adonis Mena, passed away on June 11th, 2020, at the age of 9. Ian was born on January 14, 2011 in Marrero , Louisiana. Ian passed away surrounded by his loving family and friends. Ian was a loving angel to his mother and siblings . Ian was known for being an outgoing, intelligent, joyful, and caring child. He was always there to help anyone that needed it. He loved playing and spending time with his closest family members who loved him the most. Although his life on this earth was brief, his legacy will continue to live and thrive through those that cared for him. Ian is survived by his mother Mayda; his siblings Jonathan, Jamil, Gerson, Joanne, Katia, Ivis, and Walter; his nephew Ivan and nieces Stacy, Mia, Keyrol; maternal grandmother Ernestina; along with several friends and family members.

The Banegas-Mena family would like to thank the doctors and staff at Children’s Hospital CICU in New Orleans, Louisiana for their exquisite care provided to Ian and his family. They would also like to thank Ian’s school, Success at Thurgood Marshall for all their astonishing support.

A visitation will be held on Friday, June 19, 2020 at Westside Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway, Marrero, Louisiana from 9:00 am to 11:00 am. A Catholic Funeral Service will be held in the chapel of the funeral home starting at 11:00 am with interment to follow at Westlawn Cemetery.
