James Paul Hunter

James “Jim” Paul Hunter passed away on Saturday, July 19, 2025 at the age of 79. He was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to the late Francis Hunter and Catherine Secules Hunter. James was married to Gabriella Hunter for over 60 years. Devoted father of Jennifer H. Camardelle (Russell “Rusty”). Grandfather of Eric J. Camardelle and Kyle J. Camardelle (Taylor). Great Grandfather of Westyn Camardelle and Step Great Grandfather of Jolie and Myla Rogers. Brother of Frank Hunter, the late Mary H. Bohley, Charles “Charlie” Hunter, Joan H. Grosh, and Thomas “Tommy” Hunter. Brother In Law of Loredana Chapman. James is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends who will miss him dearly.

James attended Holy Rosary Grammar School and graduated from St. Aloysius High School. In 1971, James began his career in the oilfield industry, working for Odeco and in 1979 for Oilfield Services. In 1998, he began working for Northrop Grumman. At the age of 62, James retired from Northrop Grumman as a Senior Mechanical Designer. After retirement, he was able to enjoy his hobbies that included fishing, golfing, and doing historical research, which he enjoyed fully.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 26th, 2025 beginning at 11:00AM until 1:00PM at Westside/Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway in Marrero, Louisiana. Words of Remembrance will begin at 12:00PM.
