Keith Mathias Ballew

Keith Mathias Ballew passed away on Tuesday, May 20, 2025 at the age of 58. He was born in Marrero, Louisiana on December 16, 1966 to the late Harvey W. Ballew, Jr. and Lorraine D. Ballew. Loving brother of Karen B. Landry (Ricky), Steven J. Ballew (the late Pamela) and Denise B. Long (Brian). Proud uncle of Jason Dufrene (Cindy), Alyssa Kieff (Jeremy), Heather Levy, Joshua Long, Megan Long, Brett Ballew and Jeremy Ballew. He is also survived by numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews.

Keith was a graduate of St. Michael Special School and participated in the Special Olympics of Louisiana. He attended the A.R.C of New Orleans, and was a member of the Westwego Center, LC Club as well as other J.P.A.R.D. developmental disability programs. He loved to dance, play Connect 4 and UNO, listen to 80's music and watch Marvel movies. Every night at bed time, Keith would refuse to get in bed until he said his prayers.

The family would like to send a special thanks to the many caregivers who not only cared for Keith but made him happy; Joy Legania, Past PCA and the staff from A-1 Absolute Best Care and Our Lady of Wisdom Nursing Home. We appreciate each and every one of you that has touched Keith's and our lives. God Bless You All.

Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation for Keith on Saturday, May 31, 2025 beginning at 9:00AM until 12:00PM at Westside/Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway in Marrero.
