Lionel Joseph Zimmerman Jr.

He is survived by his partner for the past forty years, Denise Kerwin, his son Randy Zimmerman (Shanta) and Denise’s children, Lonnie Kerwin, Larry Kerwin and Sonia Polkey. He is also survived by his siblings Anthony Zimmerman (Joan), Ethel Toups, Kerney Zimmerman (Bonnie), Francis Zimmerman, Linda Jambon, Walter Zimmerman and Mary Jane Renton (Billy). He was “Paw-Paw” to his 8 grandchildren, Chantell Dozier, Rochell Polkey, Christopher Polkey, Louis Polkey, Roger Decker, Sallan Decker, Carissa Cabaniss, Ryan Pasqua and well as numerous loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

“Junior” as known by relatives and friends was a native of Marrero, LA and a lifelong resident of Marrero. He worked for Otto Candies for numerous years and was a self-employed welder. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and was known as the best marine welder in this area.
