

With hearts both heavy and full of cherished memories, we announce the passing of Lois Brouillette, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, who departed this life on May 5, 2025 at the age of 79. Born in New Orleans, Louisiana on December 21, 1945, she carried a spark of genuine warmth and wit that brightened the lives of all who knew her.
Lois was a devoted mother to her two daughters, Elizabeth Jones and her husband, Bradd Jones, and Yvette “Cissie” Leonard and her husband, Nathan Leonard. Her love knew no bounds, and she poured her heart into nurturing her family with unwavering support and affection.
Her role as "Mawmaw" was one she embraced with immense joy. She leaves behind four adoring grandchildren, Amy Green (Tyler), Claire Thibodaux (Mason), Erica Leonard, and Darren Jones, who were the recipients of her endless love, playful spirit, and the most delightful birthday poems. These weren't just verses; they were heartfelt expressions of her unique bond with each of them, treasured keepsakes that will be reread for years to come.
The family circle extended to include two great-grandchildren, Cohen and Benjamin, who brought a new wave of joy and wonder into her life. She cherished every moment spent with them, her eyes twinkling with delight at their laughter and discoveries.
Lois was a woman of remarkable authenticity. What you saw was what you got – a genuine, kind, and spirited soul who never pretended to be anyone other than herself. Her quick wit could bring a smile to anyone's face, and her honest nature earned her the respect and admiration of all who crossed her path.
Her tradition of writing personalized poems for each family member on their birthdays was a testament to her thoughtfulness and creativity. A Celebration of Life in honor if Lois will be held from 10:00AM until 2:00PM on Saturday, May 17th, 2025 at Westside/Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway in Marrero, Louisiana. A Memorial Service will begin at 1:00PM.
