Lois Margaret Waguespack

She was the beloved wife of the late Dewey Thomas Waguespack for 43 years; Mother of Dewey Thomas Waguespack III (Sheila) and Glynn Joseph Waguespack (Charlotte), as well as the late Gary Timothy Waguespack, and Keith Anthony Waguespack; and grandmother of Mandie Chaisson, Kristi Martinez, Nicole Waguespack, Dewey Waguespack IV, Keri Bray, and Christopher Waguespack; sister of Louis Victor Albarado, as well as the late Earl "Sonny" Albarado, and Donald Albarado, Timothy Albarado, and Louis Victor Albarado. She is also survived by a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

The family would like to gratefully acknowledge her relationship with Madeline Totten and Jana Turchi, who were invaluable in her care, as well as her sitters, the staff of Beehive Assisted Living and Eastridge Nursing and Rehab. They would also like to thank the staff of Hospice of Acadiana for their loving care.

She was a devoted wife and mother, as well as a dedicated volunteer with Immaculate Conception Catholic Church for many years. She sang in the choir, was a part of the Ladies' Altar Society, and whatever else needed doing. She loved the Grand Ole Opry, the Rockettes, big band music, babies, and the color purple.

She loved to end conversations with the old saying "I love you, a bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck!"

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in the Chapel of Westside Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway, Marrero, on Friday, April 10, 2026 at 11:00 AM. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM.
